Cory would like to thank Psychalogica for helping it to make a meaningful measure of its safety culture and then supporting, advising and assisting the process that has lead to a transformation in its’ thinking about the relationships between organisational and environmental conditions; human behaviour; and accidents.
The change in thinking and perception of itself that is necessary for any organisation to move on from safety through structural procedure and compliance, to safety through shared belief and understanding, is difficult for any organisation and especially the leaders of that organisation. Without the combination of care and sensitivity with doggedness and constant refocussing on the path forward I am sure that the revolution in our approach would have taken much longer and would have been much less certain of success. Cory look forward to continuing to work with, and be guided by, Psychalogica as develops its ‘New Thinking’ approach to safety.
